African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has unveiled an unconventional vision for governance ahead of the 2027 general election, saying his administration would deploy artificial intelligence and drone technology to manage public finance and national security if elected president.

In a series of posts on his verified X account, Sowore said artificial intelligence would serve as Nigeria’s “Minister of Finance”, while drone technology would function as the country’s “Minister of Defence”. According to him, the move is aimed at eliminating corruption, improving transparency and modernising governance through technology rather than political patronage.

“The AI will eliminate human manipulation, waste and corruption in public finance by making data-driven, transparent decisions. The Drone will redefine national security with modern surveillance, rapid response, precision and accountability. The future of governance is technology, not patronage,” Sowore stated.

The former presidential candidate also proposed the adoption of blockchain technology as a central tool in the fight against corruption. He argued that government contracts, budget allocations and public expenditures should be permanently recorded on an immutable digital ledger, while AI systems would continuously monitor transactions, detect irregularities and flag suspicious activities in real time.

According to Sowore, integrating AI into public finance management would significantly reduce bureaucracy, eliminate wasteful government spending and improve the efficiency of public institutions. He maintained that technology-driven governance would make corruption more difficult to perpetrate while enhancing accountability and service delivery.

Sowore has consistently advocated digital governance, institutional reforms and technological innovation as central pillars of his #Sowore2027 campaign, arguing that Nigeria’s political and economic challenges require modern solutions rather than traditional patronage systems.
