Adeboye Calls for 90-Day Deadline on Terrorism, Urges Strong Action Against Security Chiefs

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on the Federal Government to adopt urgent and decisive measures to tackle terrorism and worsening insecurity across Nigeria.

In a video shared on social media and published on Tuesday, Adeboye urged authorities to consider giving security chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to end terrorist activities or resign from office.

He said the government must demonstrate stronger political will in addressing the security crisis, stressing that innocent lives continue to be lost across different parts of the country.

Adeboye also advised that efforts should not only focus on neutralising armed groups but also on identifying and dealing with those allegedly sponsoring insecurity, regardless of their influence or status.

He further called for a more strategic approach, combining diplomatic engagement with firm internal security action, arguing that leadership must prioritise results over bureaucracy in the fight against violence.

The cleric’s comments come amid renewed national concern over kidnappings, bandit attacks, and other violent incidents in several regions, which have continued to trigger public debate on the effectiveness of Nigeria’s security architecture.

As of the time of filing this report, the Federal Government has not issued an official response to the cleric’s latest remarks.
