The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has dismantled an illegal firearms fabrication facility and arrested two suspects in a continued crackdown on criminal networks in the state.

The operation, carried out by operatives acting on intelligence reports, led to the discovery of the illegal workshop where firearms were allegedly being produced and distributed to criminal elements.
According to security sources, the raid resulted in the recovery of several locally fabricated weapons and equipment believed to be used in the manufacturing process. The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue to determine the extent of their network and possible links to other criminal activities.
The Police Command said the operation is part of ongoing intelligence-led efforts to curb the spread of illegal arms and strengthen internal security across Akwa Ibom and surrounding regions.
Authorities have assured residents that further coordinated operations will continue as part of efforts to disrupt criminal supply chains and improve public safety across the state.
