Kaduna Activist Reportedly Arrested After Criticising Tinubu, Governor Sani and APC

A Kaduna-based activist has reportedly been arrested following comments in which he criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, and other members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to Sahara Reporters.

The activist was said to have made public statements calling for political change and expressing opposition to current leadership at both federal and state levels.

Details surrounding the arrest remain limited, but the development has sparked renewed concerns among rights advocates over civic space and freedom of expression in Nigeria.

Civil society observers have in recent years warned about increasing tensions between state authorities and political activists, particularly in cases involving public criticism of government policies and officials.

Security sources have not yet released an official statement clarifying the circumstances of the arrest or whether any formal charges have been filed.

The incident adds to ongoing national debates about democratic freedoms, political expression, and the boundaries of lawful dissent in Nigeria’s evolving political environment.
