The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has intensified its mobilisation over the abduction of teachers and pupils in Oyo State, with reports indicating that the union has announced the venue for a planned protest in Abuja as part of its nationwide pressure campaign for the safe release of victims.
The development follows the union’s earlier directive for teachers in Oyo State to embark on an indefinite strike beginning June 1, 2026, in response to the continued captivity of colleagues and schoolchildren abducted in Oriire Local Government Area.
